VIVOTEK IP8172 is part of the Value series product

line, with stunning 5-Megapixel resolution and

extremely clear and detailed images. This camera is

able to provide a 16X field of view larger than a

standard VGA camera, significantly reducing the

installation quantity. It is especially suitable for

monitoring open areas such as airports, shopping

malls, parking lots, or other applications requiring

accurate identification of minute details.

The IP8172 employs many advanced features to

allow the user to fully utilize the high definition video.

With high-performance H.264/MPEG-4/MJPEG

compression technology, the camera offers extra-

smooth video quality with resolution up to 1080p full

HD @ 30fps. The Video Cropping function allows

users to optimize bandwidth and enhance storage

efficiency. The ePTZ function enables users to zoom

in and focus on a region of interest (ROI) in the

camera view with only a few simple clicks of a

mouse.

For installers, properly adjusting the focus of a 5-

Megapixel network camera can be difficult due to the

high resolution. IP8172 has a focus assist button that

allows for precision adjustment - when the focus

assist button is pressed, an indicator will be displayed

on screen which helps to maximize focus during

installation. Moreover, holding down the button will

zoom the view in on the target area. Additionally, the

IP8172 can connect to an analog monitor with the

built-in BNC connector, which provides integrators

with flexible and hassle-free installation for a myriad

of applications.

As with all VIVOTEK true day/night cameras, IP8172

has a removable IR-cut filter, which provides clear

images 24 hours a day. With built-in SD/SDHC card

slot, the camera also offers a convenient and portable

storage option to prevent data loss. The standard

ST7501 central management software is also

controls the lens iris with extreme precision

using a built-in stepper motor. By using software

control, the lens maintains the iris opening at an

equipped with a focus assist button to allow

users to precisely adjust the camera focus. After

pushing the button on the camera unit, an

indicator will be displayed onscreen with detailed

focus information, which will change in

accordance with the manual adjustment.

on the target area for fine tuning, resulting in

better picture clarity.
